J L  Essay 2             The song the National Spelling Bee deed of conveyance Montage! Is a poem from the book Macnolia by A. avant-garde Jordan. This poem is about a new girl Macnolia competing in a recite bee and how she did not have a plum shot at this competition because the judges were discriminatory against her and had it mean for her to lose just because of her race. The author uses the poem as a way to express the harms of racism and how it effects everybody.  In the poem we can pass the effects of racial profiling debasing a girls state of welfare. Macnolia in the poem the character MacNolia was on the way to compete in the spelling bee championship on the train she was confronted by white men who told her to move to the color in car. This racist treatment infuriates her she expresses herself by saying            When white men see kids             What, pray tell, do they see? Black              Threat of revenge lit              With my young darkness? My Rage?              Rage? I have stock-still to learn it. (Jordan line 23) The white men move her to a car because they thought of her as a threat which infuriates her because shes physically just a harmless little girl.
She expresses her evil for the racist treatment. As there walk into the hotel there is a white entrance and a colored entrance. Which highlights to MacNolia the ever acquaint oppressive force. She expresses this by simply remarking How Elitist (Jordan line 40). This makes MacNolia feel demoralize because she feels that she deserves equal treatment. This incident of segregation foreshadows more potential conflicts everywhere race.  As MacNolia competes in the spelling bee she was forced to lose because of them boastful her a word that wasnt on the Spelling Bee list. Because she accepted this exclusive treatment it made her feel alienated. In the spelling bee MacNolia feels like she doesnt belong            I sit alone             I am job, a...
