1.1 A fighting against sex tourism
2005. Just like all the other tourists, I am walking at night, together with some friends, through the streets of Patpong, the red light district of Bangkok. Through the grocery where watches, attire and all kinds of gadgets are being sold. Go Go debar are situated right in front of these market stalls. I see women sitting at the bars. A stake dancer is doing her job. Big, massive men are trying to inveigle the passer-bys to the clubs.
It may sound a modest innocent still, but behind the scenes, there is a separate more going on.
Prostitution.
Prostitution in The Netherlands, which is being penalize by many women, men and transsexuals, is a very pleasing branch, especially when its practiced by professionals with much love. On the other hand, whoever wants to go to Asia for their sexual desires, gets his pleasure thanks to the harm of powerless people.
Prostitution in Thailand is already going on for decennia. In 1982, a conference had been held in The Netherlands regarding tackling sex tourism in Thailand.
Namely in this year the Go Go bars and other forms of the Thai prostitution had been discovered by the tourists.
As a result of this conference many feminists came to Schiphol (main airdrome in The Netherlands) to alert tourists to Thailand to not exploit Thai women.
