Araby

Araby by James Joyce is more or less a young composition who falls in love with his neighbor, Magnans sister. In the short(p) story, there are three contrastive types of symbolism; love, shun of religion, and abandonment. This story has several meanings, but there are different ways to interpret this short story.
The young man becomes enkindle with his friends sister, but does not have the courage to tell her. He describes it as confused admiration. Also, he states that, My body was like a harp and her words and gestures were like fingers running upon the wires. He was in love with Magnans sister, but could not tell her because he was too afraid to admit his desire for her. Eventually, she talks to him ab bulge out going to the bazaar, which she cannot attend, but he says he will bulge her something there. With the one chance he finally had with her, it was blown because he was forgotten by his uncle. He also referred to her more as a unearthly way, saying Her name sprang to my lips at moments in strange prayers and praises which I myself did not understand. That is more of a religious view, which states his lack of understanding for the Catholic Church.
Another symbolism was the instauration of Araby, where his hatred towards religion was shown.
