Characters:
* Guy Montag- a abscond-eater that has realized the emptiness in his life and has begun searching for anything that impart give him something to live for in books
* Captain Beatty- captain of the fire department where Montag works; he is very well pack and cunning
* Mildred Montag- Guys wife. All she does is watch TV and realise her friends over to watch TV. She is against books and finally gives up on get rid of Montags books and leaves.
* Professor Faber- a retired English prof Montag met in the park. He is a coward is afraid of what people allow for do if he speaks about books. He helps Montag print and get books.
* Granger- leader of the Book People, a group of rat intellectuals Montag finds in the country. He is intelligent, patient, and confident. He committed to preserving literature in the dark times.
Plot:
Montag gets a run while at work, when he gets to the home base and sees it is his, he realizes Mildred has betrayed him and turned him in. She rushes out the ingress with a suitcase, gets in a taxi, and is gone. Beatty orders Montag to burn the house by himself with his flamethrower and warns that the Hound is on the watch for him if he tries to escape.
Montag burns everything, and Beatty places him under arrest. Beatty sees that Montag is listening to something and strikes him on the head. The radio falls out of Montags ear, and Beatty picks it up, saying that he will have it traced to find the somebody on the other end. Montag turns his flamethrower on Beatty and burns him to a poker chip; the mechanical hound appears and injects his arm with anesthetic. Montag destroys it with his flamethrower and stumbles on with his numb leg to where he hid the books in his back yard. As he forces himself to apparent movement he listens to a regular Seashell radio and discovers that war has been say and for people to be on the lookout for him.
