Five years ago was my first trip to India. As my family and I rode in a cramped up rickshaw (a small cab), I was astonished at what I was see outside on the streets. Aside from the fruit stands and cows idly sleeping in the dust, I saw slender, malnourished, home little children mendicancy for food. I told the rickshaw driver to deflect and quickly gave the forgetful kids money to buy food. As they looked up at me with their barren eyes, they smiled and thanked me for they were going to receive a meal that day. As we arrived at my grandmas house, I was still disturbed at what I had seen on the way, and I began wondering how many kids lust every single day.
The next day, my grandparents housekeeper, Sukhi, came to the house with her baffle. Sukhi had an arranged wed at a very young age and less than a year later she was pregnant with Gauri. As Sukhi walked in with Gauri, everyone greeted them. Sukhi was stunning with her beautiful eyes however she looked feeble and weak. My mum told me Gauri had scoliosis on her spine. Sukhis 2 year old missy had sharp features like a pretty porcelain doll. I was mesmerise by her beautiful characterisitics but what made my heart stop was that she was unable to bear weight and was unable to stand or sit.
She was a 2 year old whose body was trap in a 3 month old babys body. Sukhis situation and Gauris not completely impacted me emotionally but also mentally.
After seeing and understanding the situation of Sukhi and the homeless kids on the street, I tangle like the luckiest person ever. I have a considerably supported, loving family, healthcare, and a proper education. I have everything I need to live a healthy and happy action yet there are so many citizenry who dont even know if they were going to stick out the next day.
