The book begins by showing us about his entry in the Dani territory. He explains upon their arrival, how they were greeted by an army of manpower with spears and bows and arrows. The Dani were changeable of the new arrivals to their territory, and welcomed them with caution. They were not the type of people to be curious about others and others culture or way of life. They were ripe beginning to phrase their own independent power and were unsure what to expect from the new arrivals.
