People are now defined by the commodity goods that they own, whether all that is purchased is needed or not. People are no longer defining themselves by what they do ilk in the past, when having a well paid job throw a steering you in a higher position in society, contrary today. Society is no longer shop like they utilize to. Before consumerism, shop was a chore like whatever other household chore but now shopping is more than of a social activity. Shopping was a tax whereby you went and purchased living essentials and no extras. Now shopping is a way of life, a assembly activity ensuring the right purchases are do in order to fit into society as it is. It stinker take up your whole day, meeting friends, going for coffee, having lunch, shopping and at the end comparing purchases followed by dinner or drinks. People now have much more fluid income to play with than in the past, when females were homemakers and males the sole providers or bread winners.
