Some of Odysseus’ actions were heroic, while others were not. First, Odysseus blind the cyclops Polyphemus. This action was to save his men from being eaten or brut eachy murdered. Also, he forced Circe to restore his men to their genuine form. She had lured them to her shack with food and wine. Shortly after, she enchanted them and turned them into pigs. He rescued them by using a magical herb given to him by Hermes, the messenger god. Finally, Odysseus killed all the suitors in the hall. This was not heroic, as he murdered them only because they took over his house and tried to marry his wife. Though it was wrong of the suitors to do this, Odysseus should not have killed them. Odysseus’ qualities were not all bad, but some were. First Odysseus seems to be selfish. He puts his men in danger. It’s almost as if he doesn’t care about them. Odysseus is also brave and cunning.
